1893 COLUMBIAN EXPO Scott #244a Rose Carmine Part OG Centered With Faults Filler.
This is a filler for a very high value Columbian. It is the rose carmine 244a shade, faded and with some original gum (see photos) perhaps 40 percent, not sound but with several thin areas visible and a few short perfs (center top and bottom). Clearly a faulty copy but unusually well centered. For a collector with a limited budget who wants some of the better Columbian dollar values in his album. Very high Scott Catalogue value if sound.
