Estate sale find.   Actually found in an early 1850s American book bought at the sale.
I could not believe my eyes!
(Am selling this item for a widow... this is how she said her late husband found the stamp!!)
This is indeed a rare find, a true MINT specimen of America's first postage stamp.
ORIGINAL GUM    NEVER HINGED
Gum is very shiny... this is not obvious in the photo.
I invite you to judge the photos and see if you agree with my assessment that this is a
fine to very fine specimen of this historic stamp.
The hair seen on the reverse is on the scanner and not the stamp.
Great investment piece. Hard to find one for sale.
