Birch wood drums are known for their tonal qualities. These great tonal qualities include peaks in the high- and low-end frequencies with a rounded out mid-range. An oversize vent hole adds a distinctive and very loud CRACK to that great sound and helps project that sound to the audience. Griffin’s birch wood 14” snare drum will soon be your favorite. Our birch wood snare drum with oversize vent has eight (8) tuning lugs for a more stable, higher quality sound when compared to other six (6) lug drums. Utilize the snare drum throw-off to tighten, loosen, or mute the snares as you prefer, and we even include a drum key with each birch wood shell snare drum as well.

STRONG BIRCH WOOD 8MM 3-PLY 14 X 6.5 SHELL FOR A FULL AND ROUND SOUND
The enhanced lows and highs of birch wood offer a good balance of tone to crispness and the enhanced high-end help snares made from this wood project well. Compared to maple, birch has a more aggressive and brighter tone with very good projection, and this drum has a more balanced tone than beech wood which tends to be heavier on the lower frequencies.
MORE TUNING LUGS FOR YOUR SNARE HEAD CREATING EXCELLENT SOUND
The percussion hardware includes a drum key, as well as eight (8) very durable tuning lugs that promise a much more stable and higher quality sound compared to six lug drums, allowing you to achieve excellent sound in even the lowest tuning option.

Productive Wood Drum Shell Manufacturing and Testing
All of our drum shells are manufactured from hand picked quality poplar wood panels. The wood mill cuts and delivers to our factory proper sizes for our shells by a computer-controlled saw. After the gluing, rolling, drying, and sanding process, the drum shells are checked for a level check, and measured for accuracy at a 15% sample rate. Next, the laminate wrap is applied, and holes are drilled into the shell for hardware, and the edges of the shell are sanded down for snare beds. Next, all hardware, drum heads, and snare wires are assembled to the drum shells. Finally, before packaging and shipping to our warehouse distribution location, our quality control technician visually inspects all the drums and performs a sound test with a 5% sample rate. Once the testing and inspections passes our standards, the finished production ships direct to our loading dock, where our sound technicians perform a final sound test before we enter the inventory as ready to be fulfilled.

Our instruments and studio equipment are sound tested by our hired sound technician. We focus on being competitive by offering affordability, all while not sacrificing quality of sound. Since most everyone at our brand has an extensive musical background, we are very rigorous in the sound testing process of equipment. Additionally, it allows us to act quickly and communicate efficiently with our factories production manager on when we see a need for improvement. Before and after each batch run from the factory, our instruments are tested to confirm the quality, pitch and sound specs remain consistent from our previous production orders.
